7 Students in Serious Condition, Shifted to ICU; Others Under Treatment

Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh – In an unfortunate incident at the SRIT Engineering College hostel located in the Bukkarayasamudram mandal, a total of twenty-six engineering students fell ill due to food poisoning. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when the students consumed a meal consisting of tomato rice, curd, and eggs. Shortly after, 26 students reported feeling unwell and were immediately transferred to the Amaravati Hospital in Anantapur for urgent medical attention.

According to reports, seven students are currently in serious condition and are receiving intensive care in the hospital’s ICU. Meanwhile, a few other students who experienced milder symptoms are being treated within the confines of the hostel premises.

The college authorities have taken prompt action by cooperating with the medical staff to ensure that the affected students receive the necessary care. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the food poisoning outbreak, and steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining strict food safety standards and vigilant monitoring of the quality and hygiene of meals served in educational institutions.
